Lecture: Commercial Photography

Professional photographers
Between paid missions, image agency and specialization - commercial photography as an industry after the war.

Stian Nybrufossen, photo archivist at the Norwegian Technical Museum, tells about the kind of photography that emerges among photographers in the photo collection DEXTRA Photo. DEXTRA Photo archives contains a number of commercial photographers that was active in the period from 1950 until the 1990s. They were all self-employed and photographed considering the purchase of actual pictures either through agencies, or on behalf of various clients.

Meet the professional photographer who specialized in architecture or fashion, the industry photographer who photographed plants and promotional material or the product photographer who photographed the depleted toys or tools.
