"Pasta basta"

Of all important and serious days, today, on the 25th of October, we have arrived at the World Pasta Day! The origins of pasta is uncertain, but what is certain is that Italians eat more pasta than any other nation, namely 23 kg per person a year.

We don't know much about the origins of this image either and the reason why it was photographed. Perhaps its a form of portrayal of life, a photograph meant to be sold to tourists? Anyways, it underlines the point that Italians in reality don't eat pasta with a spoon and fork, that's actually an American invention. They eat with a fork, or, as they do here, with the very best tool at our disposal: our hands.

According to the international pasta organisation around 600 types of pasta exists around the world. Therefore, it shouldn't be a problem finding a pasta dish suited to eat in celebration of Pasta Day!
