Is there an entry fee to submit to The Preus Museum Photography Day?

No, there is no entry fee. If you are one of the 50 exhibitors, you must print your own photos, and mount on the day of the event.

I would like to submit more than one project is it possible?

The open call allows submission of one (1) project only. In a project you can submit 10 images, either as 10 works or 10 works in a series. You can also submit less than 10 images. It’s up to you!

 

Can I edit my portfolio once it has already been submitted?

No, all submissions are final. in the event of uncertainties, please contact support@picter.com.

 

What happens if my work is selected?

If your work is selected, you will be notified around June 23. It is up to you to produce and deliver the work (both to and from the Preus Museum Photography Day in Horten) at your own expense before August 15 202.

 

If I am not selected, will I receive feedback and suggestions for my work?

Due to the large number of entries, it is not possible to provide personalized feedback for artists.

 

Where will the exhibition take place?

The exhibition will take place on at indoor venue called Artilleriverkstedet, outside of the Preus Museum in Horten, Norway, on the Photography Day on August 28 2021.

 

What is expected of the photographers?

The photographers that are selected to exhibit during the Preus Museum Photography Day, must print and transport the images themselves. They should also be present on the Photography Day August 28 and mount the images before the event opens (at 11:00) and dismantle the images at the end of the event (at 18.00). In the case that the photographer is not able to be present, the Preus Museum staff will help with the mounting ad dismantling.

 

What does the exhibition walls look like?

The walls of the Juried exhibition are vintage exhibition walls made for travelling exhibitions in the 1950s. They are white painted panels with a dark wooden frame, each panel measuring 120x150 cm. The images must be printed in a size that fits the measurements of the wall. Each photographer is free to choose how her og his images should be displayed on their wall, and free to add text panels. All selected photos will be exhibited during the Preus Museum Photography Day indoors in the “Artilleriverkstedet”. The name of the photographer will be displayed on the panel by the Preus Museum Photography Day.
